AdsManager - End of life
It is with great regrets that we have chosen to end the developpement of Adsmanager and its other associated components.
AdsManager is born 10 years ago and, as of today, the number of new subscriptions and downloads have fallen and we cannot maintain the component anymore.
All active subscribers will be able to continue enjoying support until the end of their subscription.
The components will be free and no support will be provided anymore for the other users.
AdsManager 3.2.7 now live!
New field type OpenStreetMap, named openmap in the component, it allows you to use an open source solution instead of the one from Google.
If you want everything to works fine, do not try to enable multiple map plugins at once.
The ads position from Gmap will NOT be reported to openmap, you will need to set the position value again.
By simply disabling the openmap field and enabling the gmap one, you can go back to what you had before updating.
We fixed the issue that forced new users to install AdsManager twice to see the position in the edit form. (Finally)
What next?
Next on Joomprod, a new look for the free version of AdsManager.
AdsManager 3.2.6 now live!
That release only has one major feature, the geolocation and sort by distance feature.
The requirement for this feature is that your website MUST be in https.
If the user chooses to block the location, the sort by distance will not do anything.
If he allows the location, then the sort by distance will work, but only for the ads that have their lat, lon filled (with the gmap field for now).
This feature is already supported by adsClarity and can be used by selecting it in the sort list option just above the ads list.
What next?
The next feature will be another map module, but this one will use openstreetmap.
