#656 – Ad id number shown in ad

Joomla! version :3.9.11
PHP version :7.3.9
AdsManager version :3.2
Is there any way to show the ad number in the ad? A field that can be put into the display list? It would be helpful for me to eliminate ads that are no longer needed. Can't use the automatic features of expiration dates.
I'm not a programmer so I don't really know what code I'd use.

If you wish to show the ad number, it can be easily done but you will need to add a line in the code, sorry.

However, since it is a modification which is often asked by customer, I will see if I can add a field to do that.

That would be so great if you could do that for your users. I’ve used this program for years and find it really meets our needs. Having the ad number somewhere in the display or even added at the end of the ad text would help me out a lot.

I created a new field plugin that display the ad id.

It will be available in the next version.

Thank you so much for the quick response to this request. It will make getting my list of ads to unpublish much easier. We can't use the automatic feature so this will help us in the unpublish task. Your response to suggestions is just one of the reasons I continue to use AdsManager.

It's been a long time since I've added a field so I'm having a bit of an issue selecting what type of field this should be. Could you tell me what type to use? And will the ad # automatically be added to the field by the software when the ad is published and displayed?

the field type is AdsId (calling it 'id' would cause issues).

You need to use it like any other field, the user will just not have to fill it, obviously.

Thanks. I input all ads manually due to the low volume we get and the lack of computer knowledge of our users. I'll just add the number to the ad once it's saved.

I need to reacquaint myself with how the set up works in that area. It's been so long since I set up the ads, I don't remember what goes where to get what I want. That's on me! If it works, I don't mess with it. It's on my list of things to get done today. Thanks for the suggestion.
