Using VirtualMoney in separate user group was created by tachyon

I am currently using the AdsManager in conjunction with Paidsystem and Invoicing. I would like to know if it's possible to setup two different user groups; one using normal Pay-per-ad in Paidsystem, and another using Paidsystem with VirtualMoney.

What I am planning to do is to allow the second user group to purchase blocks of ad (for example 1 Ad Credit allow them to post 1 ad, 4 Ad Credits allow them to post 4 ads, and so on.). Once they run out of Ad Credit, they can purchase more ad credits if they want.

Can you advise if this workflow is achievable using VirtualMoney?

Sorry, but you cannot set two different mode of payment with Paid System yet.

That's unfortunate. As an alternative, can you advise us if it's possible to modify the Pay-per-ad system so an ad poster can post more than one ad at a time (and have the charges reflected in the order form and invoice) ?

Hello,

I think it's possible to modify the code.

You can, for example, use 'Specific Right' setting in the PaidSystem configuration to separate the groups who will need to pay with real money from the groups who will pay with virtualmoney.
Then you will just have to add some conditions in the code where we check the payment method and change the variable if needed.

The payment system in recovered in the save function in 'components/com_adsmanager/controller.php'.
And the variable you need to change within this function is named '$mode'.

Hi loic,

Sorry for the late reply! Based on your suggestion, what I should do is to modify getPaidSystemMode() to check for the logged in user group (JFactory::getUser()->groups) and set the value of $mode depending on the assigned group.

I haven't really tested this approach since I was busy with another project but I'll have a closer look next week.
