AdsManager - End of life

It is with great regrets that we have chosen to end the developpement of Adsmanager and its other associated components.

AdsManager is born 10 years ago and, as of today, the number of new subscriptions and downloads have fallen and we cannot maintain the component anymore.

All active subscribers will be able to continue enjoying support until the end of their subscription.

The components will be free and no support will be provided anymore for the other users.

Can someone please help on this?
It's many days now that I am stuck with this problem and I can't really move on to decide whether a paid version is worth the effort/money.

The requirement is to automatically have the ads expired (on their predefined expiry date) without the need of a user to login (which is not working either!)

I tried re-installing, I tried everything I could from my side. It's only the authors that can solve this.

:(

Hello,

I don't understand the problem here.
If you want ad to expire without user connect there is two solutions

Set cron type to :
Linux Task: /usr/bin/php cli/adsmanager_cron.php (Use Only if you know Linux Cron Task)
WebCron: URL yourwebsite.com/index.php?option=com_adsmanager&task=cron (use only if you have webcron)

This two solutions will work
but you should not try to execute:
php /home/xxxxxxxxx/public_html/components/com_adsmanager/cron.php

The problem is that I tried both ways but they failed.
Let see that again:

Solution 1 wecron:
In component administration I put the setting Cron Type= Webcron

I don't have webcron. All I did was to pull this URL from my remote browser:
www.mydomain.com/index.php?option=com_adsmanager&task=cron

The result was to see in my browser:

>>
Hourly Action
Done
>>

and then the browser returned this URL:

www.mydomain.com/index.php/en/?option=com_adsmanager&task=cron

Notice the /en/ (my site is multiligual. It this a problem?)

The ads were *not* deleted.

Solution 2 with Linux Cron Task:

I changed the setting of the component parameter to Cron Type = Linux Cron Task.

I then created the following task in Linux Cron:
/usr/bin/php /home/mydomain.com/public_html/cli/adsmanager_cron.php

When I run it I see this as the output of the above command:

>>>
PHP Notice: Undefined index: HTTP_HOST in /home/mydomain.com/public_html/libraries/joomla/uri/uri.php on line 96

Notice: Undefined index: HTTP_HOST in /home/mydomain.com/public_html/libraries/joomla/uri/uri.php on line 96
AdsManager cron start...
AdsManager cron finish
<<<

The ads were *not* deleted.

Do you see the problem now?

Ideally the Linux Cront Task is what I am looking for to have since I don't use webcron.

Thank you.
