Adsmanager 3.1.6 - 500 Internal Server Error was created by adarr
After installing Adsmanager Gold 3.1.6 the screen returns with the following error:

500 Internal Server Error
The request was not completed. The server met an unexpected condition.
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/~mysite/administrator/index.php?option=com_installer&view=install (port 80)
Please forward this error screen to (my server's) WebMaster.

Apache/2.2.31 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.31 OpenSSL/0.9.8m DAV/2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 Server at (my server) Port 80

I have tried to install more than once.
After install, each component menu item produces a similar error. I can no longer access my Joomla control panel. Other areas of Joomla admin are ok if you can figure out how to get to them.
  • Using Joomla! 3.6.2
  • Tried to install using the com_adsmanager_gold_3.1.6.zip file and the similar file in the "pack" version.
  • quickstart_3.1.6 will not install either.

Hello,

Could you tell me how exactly did you try to install AdsManager ?
What archive have you used ?
Was it a new install or an update ?
If you can access the server log, could you tell me what error is displayed in it ?

I tried to install com_adsmanager_gold_3.1.6.zip using Joomla's backend installer.

I also tried to install the above file witch was located in the pack_gold_adsmanager_3.1.6_unzipfirst.zip file.

Both gave me the same error. It was a new install.

My site uses cPanel - please point me in the right direction to get the error log. I have not been able to find those logs in yet.

Looking in my tmp folder, there are a few files left over from trying to install. The folders named “install_xxxxxxxxxxxxx” contain ads manager files. See screenshot.

Hello,

Usually the error logs can be find in your domain inside the cpanel, I don't know what cpanel your using so I can't help you here.

A good way to be sure that the installation archive is not corrupted is to install it on a website on local.

My host was not able to help me find the error logs. Nice!

I cleaned out my tmp folder and tried to install again. Same results.

However, I'm now unable to view my control panel in the Joomla backend. Other menu items are ok, but the controls panel page is hosed.

Very strange. Could it have something to do with the Joomla update to 3.6.2? There were reported problems updating from 3.5.x to 3.6.1

UPDATE: I get the same errors installing to a Joomla 3.4.5 site

Hello,

That really weird. Did you try to install adsmanager on a localhost ?
Do you have datas already saved on your website or it is for a new installation ?
If it is a new installation, you can try to install the quickstart, you need to unzip the archive at the root of your server, then go to your url and follow the step.
It will erase the existing database so be sure to have saved it before installing.
