SSL login issue was created by mshihan
Hi
I have installed SSL and set force SSL on entire site. The problem here is that login via https users are getting the following error.
Error
You are not authorised to view this resource.

I have try to fix this issue by changing force SSL to administrator only, doing this can avoid the above mentioned error if a user login via http, but if the user login via https the error is showing, because users can login via both https and http URL.
Another issue is on https the template fonts are becoming little bolder than it's original size.

So please help me to fix this two errors.

Best Regards.

In addition I have also noticed that accessing the website over https is very very slow compared to normal http access and having several issues like not loading some images and some times not redirecting home page due to slow page loading time. So I found that enabling force https on entire site is a bad idea in Joomla. To overcome this issue I have set force https only on administrator and then set secure on both user login and user register forms in Joomla menu manager. But this does not fix the issue either, if a user login in via https he is redirecting to https home page (not http home page) and users are getting the error message I have mentioned above (Error You are not authorized to view this resource.)

So could you please help me to over come this Joomla headache.
I need to exclude https on all the pages accept administrator login, user login page and user registration page and need to redirect non https home page after user login.

Best Regards.

Hello,

We do that kind of transition almost monthly and didn't had any issue with it.
I think the issue might be caused by a plugin or a link that write an http URL in the code.
Could you check the console to see if there is any error ?

Best regards.

Hi Loic
I have currently set force SSL on administrator only.
I am getting the following error over https
Mixed Content: The page at 'www.mydomain.com/' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure stylesheet 'fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lato:300,400,700,900'. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

I think the issue can be fix using https on certain pages in Joomla, Like https on administrator, user login and user registration page and redirect users from secure https login to normal http home page. I know there is a Joomla URL redirection plugin to fix this kind of issues and errors. But I am looking for a solution without that plugin.
Hey Loic, you should know the exact solution better than anyone. Please help me to fix this.

Best Regards

Hello,

For the Google font, you need to remove the 'http://' before the URL, that way it will automatically take the prefix of your website instead of the one from the link.

For the message 'You are not authorised to view this resource.', Is it a message from the browser or a message from Joomla ? If it's a message from Joomla, is it on all the pages or only AdsManager ?

Best regards.

Hi
I just fixed google font issue by replacing "http" to "https" in index.php file and now the website speed is very fast and there is no more browser warning due to mixed content.
The error message after login over https is not relating to browser. I have try to fix the issue by editing configuration.php file
var $live_site =''; replace with var $live_site = 'www.mydomain.com'; and then set force secure login on user login menu, but cannot fix this error message. I think this could be a redirection issue after login over https. Could you please check this for me.

Best Regards.
