AdsManager - End of life

It is with great regrets that we have chosen to end the developpement of Adsmanager and its other associated components.

AdsManager is born 10 years ago and, as of today, the number of new subscriptions and downloads have fallen and we cannot maintain the component anymore.

All active subscribers will be able to continue enjoying support until the end of their subscription.

The components will be free and no support will be provided anymore for the other users.

Create module based on mod_adsmanager_menu

Hi all,
Hope someone from this forum may give me a light about the following:
I installed Adsmanager 2.9.5 with joomla 3.1.5. I want to clone mod_adsmanager_menu module in order to group ads by a custom field (e.g. by states - using external table) instead of category. Here are the steps I have done so far:
1) Create a copy of /modules/mod_adsmanager_menu directory, including all its content (i.e. /modules/mod_adsmanager_menu_states)
2) Rename xml and php file matching same name as new directory from step 1. I.E.
mod_adsmanager_menu_states.xml
mod_adsmanager_menu_states.php
3) Using extension manager>Discover option (joomla), install new module

After completing steps 1, 2 and 3 I don´t have any problem to publish it using module manager. However, If I create a new copy of /administrator/components/com_adsmanager/models/category.php and I update /modules/mod_adsmanager_menu_states/mod_adsmanager_menu_states.php with the new file name (see below), the module stops working (now I get a blank screen).

Replace:
require_once(JPATH_BASE.'/administrator/components/com_adsmanager/models/category.php');

With:
require_once(JPATH_BASE.'/administrator/components/com_adsmanager/models/states.php');

I'm not a PHP programmer - it is clear that I am missing something. Any hint will be very appreciated.

Thanks,

-Cesar Romo

Hello,

Have you set the 'error display' parameter to Maximum ?

If not, set it at Maximum and retry to execute your module, you may have an error but it will not be displayed if the Joomla setting are set to not show it.

Best Regards
