AdsManager - End of life

It is with great regrets that we have chosen to end the developpement of Adsmanager and its other associated components.

AdsManager is born 10 years ago and, as of today, the number of new subscriptions and downloads have fallen and we cannot maintain the component anymore.

All active subscribers will be able to continue enjoying support until the end of their subscription.

The components will be free and no support will be provided anymore for the other users.

[RESOLVED] Login to view ads? was created by muxed
I recently installed adsmanager and setup some dummy ads to see if this extension would suit my needs. And it really does!

I was going to buy a subscription for the "Paid System" when I came across a problem, everytime I click on an ad's headline once searched or in the modules it would ask me to login. The login appears to be the standard joomla login.

There was one thread about this issue in the previous forum however he did give a clear way of fixing this issue.

However If I cannot fix this problem then its pointless getting the "Paidsystem" as i'll just run into the same problem again...

I've tryied two different installs of the componenet however both times the same problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance...

Hi, I'm having the same problem...

J! 2.5.14, AdsManager 2.9.0 (free version). When I use the Search module to search for ads, it redirects you to a standard Joomla login page.

Edit: solved it :) You need to asign menu type Result to a menu item (it can be in a unpublished menu) and it doesn't open the login window anymore.

Hope this helps anybody ;)

Edit no.2. For the detailed view, you need to make another menu item (e.g. details) and chose menu type content details (dont choose any specific ad!) and thats it :)

I also figured out this only became a problem once I set the "post new ad" page to registered only.

Strangely enough I solved my problem a different way. I found that the problem was with my IP, it was only me who had to login to view ads on my IP. (tried multiple computers on same network) Other people who visited the site had no problems.

So I don't know what thats all about...

Hi,
I just had exactly same problem : when you click on ads headline then you go directly to login page.

In fact this happen when some conditions satisified :
- home page is not adsmanager menu type
- in main menu you don't have any adsmanager>detail link
- the first menu link of other menu which is of adsmanager menu type is published into registered users at least (not public nor guest)

In such conditions you will obtain the problem.

What I've seen is that it is due to itemid search sequence in frontend/lib/route.php but I did not resolve for now.

Expecting a solution

Thanks in advance...
