I took your advice and deleted everything in public html and started from fresh.
I loaded your quick start and now have a system that is basically working.
However, If you click the following
www.commercialboats.com.au/index.php/ads-map
You will see it has errors on a few lines of php (138, 201 and 80)
I do not know how to correct these?
Also, if you log into the back end, and go to Modules (as per screenshot) none of the modules will open
prntscr.com/debnvt
Then click on any of these modules, they open momentarily but then revert to this page (See screenshot)

Hello,

The strict standard errors can be hidden by setting the error reporting of Joomla to simple, also, they are caused by the component xmap. We are not the provider of this component therefor I cannot help you with it.

There is a php error on the module. Could you enable the error reporting of joomla to see what is the error ?

Best regards.

I just turned off Xmap - Adsmanager Plugin and this made now the site map displays without error.
I have just gone to Global - server and turned error reporting to simple and this made no difference to modules
I enabled error reporting to maximum but it shows nothing at all when I go to the bak end modules and try to open a module, I still have the same problem
The modules are showing on the front end, I just cannot edit them in the back end
With Error reporting on, on the front end i get this
mod_adsmanager_global_filter

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /home/cbhatfield1/public_html/components/com_adsmanager/helpers/field.php on line 687

Hello,

You need to set a field to search in the configuration of AdsManager, 'General' tab for the global filter.

For the Module in the backend, did you try to update Joomla ? It might be a issue caused by that.

Best regards.

Ok thanks, I set that and it fixed that problem
Yes, Joomla is the latest version
FYI. I found the problem with the modules. I had to clear Joomla cache and also browser cache and I can now edit modules
